Outcome 1 Understand how to facilitate the learning and

development needs of children and young people

through mentoring

1.1 explain the interpersonal and communication skills required to facilitate the learning and

development needs of children and young people

1.2 explain how different learning styles and methods impact on the learning and development of

individual learning and development needs

4.1 assess the progress of individual children or young people against their action plans, suggesting

improvements

4.2 evaluate the effectiveness of the mentoring process in facilitating the learning and development of the individual children or young people.
